You'll find an interactive map of Barcelona, Spain above, though you can't access the little yellow man from that map. Use the link below it "View Larger Map", and the map will appear on your monitor; drag the little Yellow Man onto the map, step into Barcelona, and start exploring. Find an interesting subject/area. Change it all you want. Or paint it straight up as you see it. Instructions are in the sidebar to the right. Any questions, ask 'em in the comments or email me directly.
Again, we are happy to mention that Google has given their okay for artists to use Street View as a reference for paintings that can then be sold without fear of copyright infringement.
Thank you to the Google Maps Team, the Google Street View Team, and all those involved. And thank you, artists, for participating.
NOW LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!
Hello everyone! Welcome to Barcelona!
ReplyDeleteI've explored this area many times through the use of Google Street View, and have found urban areas as well some very nice rural areas around the edges of the city. This should be a wonderful city to get to know. Enjoy!
Cant wait to get started. I love these ini virtual vacations... wrote about on my blog today.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Kathleen Harrington, I've found your site and hope to participate. I've actually visited Barcelona and will be pulling out some of my own photos from the trip and checking to see if I can gather up my energy to participate this month! Love your idea for this blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention on your blog, Kathleen.
ReplyDeleteHi AutumnLeaves. Glad to have you participating!
ReplyDeleteRemember though, you can't use your own photos as reference in these challenges. The point of this blog is to use GOOGLE STREET VIEW to travel and paint virtually en plein air.
Thanks, Bill
Thanks for including me. I look forward to more 'traveling' around through this great portal of yours.
